Get together – “Old Stock Exchange”

Our guides will pick you up at the hotel and take a little walk through the city of Leipzig with the “Alte Handelsbörse” (Old Stock Exchange) as our destination. Meeting point will be at the lobby. The “Old Stock Exchange” is situated close to the Market Square behind the Old City Hall. It was built in 1687 and is the only baroque building in Leipzig. Today, the hall is often used for events of various kinds, but mainly for musical and literary events as well as scientific and technical lectures, company presentations and conferences, including festive reception. We are pleased to invite you to the “Old Stock Exchange” for the Get together of the 7th Congress of EAZWV.

You can enjoy this evening on your own as no official function is scheduled. You may want to explore the city of Leipzig or visit the zoo and meet your colleagues. The zoo is extending its opening hours just for you and you can enter the zoo with your conference name badge.
The Restaurant Marché in the Founder’s Garden near the entrance gate will prepare a delicious dinner buffet at the price of 15.00 EUR per person excluding beverages. The restaurant will be open for conference participants from 7:30 pm.

This evening is for students only. We will meet at the Volkshaus Leipzig at 7:00 pm. The restaurant is a popular place on the “KarLi” – a street famous for its pubs, clubs, restaurants and bars.
Price per person: 10.00 EUR excluding beverages. Please sign up at the registration desk.
Historical evening – “Moritzbastei”

Leipzig certainly has a colourful history!
The Moritzbastei is the only remaining part of the city’s old fortifications. Buried beneath debris for decades, in the 1970s students began clearing it and converted it into a club. The evening will include some tasty delicacies reflecting regional cuisine as well as entertainment provided by mediaeval artists. There is no better way to spend a May evening?!
The evening is included in the registration fee for conference registrants and accompanying persons. Students may purchase tickets at the price of 55.00 EUR per ticket.
Farewell party – “Kiwara-Lodge” at Leipzig Zoo

You might explore the Leipzig Zoo on your own, before the Farewell party is going to start.
At 7:00 pm, we’ll be awaiting you for the farewell dinner at the Kiwara Lodge, where the conference will close with some delightful cuisine, exotic drinks and traditional African music.
