Guidelines for Manuscript Preparation

The manuscripts, full papers or extended extracts, are expected to be original contributions. The language should be UK English. They must be submitted as WORD file on floppy disk with tabulations and illustrations saved as separate files to Prof. Dr. Klaus Eulenberger (Zoo Leipzig GmbH | Pfaffendorfer Str. 29 | D-04105 Leipzig) or as attachments by email to EAZWV2008@planet.nl.

FULL PAPER
A full research paper should contain title, authors, affiliation, summary, keywords, introduction, material and methods, results, discussion, (acknowledgements), and references.

A full review paper should contain title, authors, affiliation, summary, keywords, introduction, paragraph headings, concluding discussion, and references.

A full case report paper should contain title, authors, affiliation, summary, keywords, introduction, case description, methods, results, concluding discussion, (acknowledgements), and references.

For layout instructions see the attached example. The total length should not exceed 6 pages, including tables and figures. Beware: manuscripts that do not exactly follow this layout will be returned.

The summary should be only in English including 1-2 introductory sentences, 1-2 sentences about the material and methods and the most relevant results and conclusions.

Tables: Should not be excessive in size. They must be numbered and be headed by brief, compendious legends. Mark desired position of tables in the manuscript text.  Unusual symbols must be explained.

Figures: They must be very carefully prepared and saved as jpeg-file or PowerPoint file on disc or attached as email. They can also be printed on glossy paper, be numbered and accompanied by brief precise legends and send by regular mail. Mark desired position of figures in manuscript text.

Genus and species names: Print in italics. Genus names should appear in full the first time mentioned in the text.

Key words: Please include a set of keywords indicating for instance the animal species, the aetiology, the name of the disease, the problem and others.

EXTENDED ABSTRACT
An extended abstract is an alternative for a research paper that is going to be published in a referred journal. It should, however, contain some introductory sentences, short information about material and methods, new information presented as preliminary conclusions.

An extended abstract should contain title, authors, affiliation, keywords, abstract (arial 11, single spaced) and references. The total length shall not exceed 1 page. Follow the layout example.
